What is Stain Repair?
Skin blemishes have become a major problem for many men and women. There are many types of skin blemishes, but sunspots, postpartum blemishes, and acne blemishes are the ones we often encounter. In particular, as the destruction of the ozone layer increases, the risk of exposure to the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays increases. Due to sunlight, ultraviolet light is one of the most important factors in the formation or darkening of spots. One of the very important points we insist on emphasizing to patients when repairing various blemishes is that effective prevention of sun exposure is a necessary condition for blemish repair.
What is Sun Spot (Melasma)?
Sunspots (chloasma) are brown spots on the face. They usually occur under the age of 20. Women are more common than men. It is usually bilateral and symmetrical in the facial region. Sunspots are divided into shallow, deep and mixed types. Dark spots on the surface respond better in repair. Rooted people have a hard time responding to repair. Melasma is the most common type of chloasma, which is a combination of superficial and deep patches. Sunbathing, pregnancy, hormone therapy and birth control pills can cause dark spots.
Sunspots are a very common problem. It is more common in dark-skinned people. The mechanism of stain formation is that the color-producing cells in these areas produce more color than the unpainted area, resulting in an immediate darkening of the spots exposed to the sun. Thyroid disease can often be seen in people with sunspots. Intense sunlight on the face during early childhood and adolescence also damages the skin and causes discoloration. Sunspots on the face are usually seen on sun-exposed areas such as the upper lip, cheeks and forehead. Rarely, it can also occur on the chin and forearms. It manifests itself in the form of dark, irregularly circumscribed, intact spots on the skin. Sunspots usually darken in summer and after sunbathing.
Patients with sunspot, or melases, should always use broad-spectrum sunscreen and stay away from artificial light sources such as solariums. Hormonal drugs and birth control pills should not be used unless absolutely necessary.
How Do Sunspots On The Face Go?
Sunspot Repair:
Before the procedure, the depth of the stain should be determined. Spot creams, oral antioxidant pills, laser repairs and chemical peels can be used alone or in combination to repair sunspots. People suffering from sunspots should regularly use sunscreen with a factor of at least 30 every 4 hours throughout the day, in summer and winter. Also, even when using sunscreen, do not expose yourself to too much direct sunlight, be careful to stay in the shade, and wear a hat and glasses. They can use a foundation or powder that is compatible with their skin color on the concealer base. These concealers must contain sunscreen. In PRP application, 8-10 ml of own blood is taken into 1 test tube and centrifuged, and then growth factors (GF), which are very special proteins, are separated. When these growth factors are applied to a stained area, they initiate a repair action and accelerate cell regeneration while removing cells that cause discoloration. PRP application for stains is done in 1-3 sessions and does not adversely affect the normal daily life of the person.
